About 20 passengers stranded after C-1 train breaks down
The late Málaga–Fuengirola service stopped at Torremolinos at 11.53pm on Sunday, and passengers waited more than an hour before Renfe arranged taxis.

A Cercanías C-1 train bound from Málaga for Fuengirola broke down at Torremolinos station at 11.53pm on Sunday. About 20 people were travelling on the late service.
Passengers said they remained at the station for more than an hour before Renfe organised taxis to complete their journeys. Some said they did not arrive in Fuengirola until 2am.
Passengers alleged that two young people were left at the station after Renfe told drivers that everyone had been collected. They also said one driver refused a passenger who had a skateboard.
Renfe disputed that account. The state-owned operator said it had reserved a taxi for every affected passenger, that nobody was abandoned and that the arrangements caused no complications.
The C-1 was operating normally again on Monday morning. Renfe described the stoppage as a technical incident but did not identify the precise fault.
The breakdown followed other problems on the coastal commuter route this year. A service was cancelled in August because of a door fault, while another train remained near Málaga María Zambrano for an hour and a half in April. Five services were cancelled after an overhead-line power failure in February.
