UK travel advice flags rail disruption after Toledo collision
The Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office updated its Spain guidance after two high-speed trains collided near Mora and Orgaz on 28 October.

The UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office has updated its travel advice for Spain after two high-speed trains collided in Toledo province on 28 October. The department expects significant disruption to rail services following the crash between Mora and Orgaz.
Passengers affected by the collision can contact Renfe on +34 900 10 10 20 for help or information. British nationals who need consular support are advised to call the nearest British embassy or consulate on +34 91 714 6300.
Advice for people travelling to Spain
The revised guidance also reminds travellers to check the advice for any country they pass through. People travelling to Spain via France should consult the UK guidance for France first; the same applies to journeys through Gibraltar.
The department recommends arranging suitable travel insurance and checking that it covers the planned route, activities and potential emergency costs. It also advises travellers to research their destination before setting off.
The update was made on the day of the collision. The advice describes expected rail disruption and provides contact details; it does not give a timetable for when services will return to normal.
